Pininfarina’s 1900bhp Battista hyper-EV

Say hello to the most powerful road-legal car ever to come out of Italy. It’s not a Ferrari. It’s not a Lamborghini. And it’s not a Pagani. It’s the Pininfarina Battista – a hyper-EV with approximately 1,900bhp and 1,696 torques.

The UK Premiere of the Pininfarina Battista Hyper GT

Following a global reveal at the recent Geneva International Motor Show, Automobili Pininfarina today announces that the 1,900 hp, pure-electric Battista hyper GT will make its UK debut from Friday 5th April as part of the world’s most exclusive motor racing event – the 77th Goodwood Members’ Meeting.

Presented in a bespoke pavilion in the Goodwood Motor Circuit paddock, the new luxury hypercar will be joined by an icon in Pininfarina’s back catalog of design, a stunning 1955 Lancia Aurelia owned by the Duke of Richmond.

Members of the Goodwood Road and Racing Club are invited to meet with the new team of experts responsible for designing and developing the Battista, including the legendary ‘fastest man on the Goodwood Hill’, Nick Heidfeld. Former Formula 1 and Formula E racer Nick is Automobili Pininfarina’s lead development driver tasked with tuning the Battista’s dynamic performance. At Goodwood he will be joined by Rene Wollmann who, having led the development team for the Mercedes-AMG Project ONE, has recently joined Automobili Pininfarina as Program Director, Sportscars.

Nick Heidfeld said: “It is a privilege to return to Goodwood for the UK debut of the Pininfarina Battista. The Members’ Meeting is full of legendary sports cars that in many cases have become game changers. We aim for Battista to be regarded in the same way in the future and to be recognized for the perfect combination of beautiful aesthetics and unprecedented performance.

The innovative EV powertrain beneath the Battista’s carbon fibre body and monocoque provides the perfect platform on which to develop the most powerful car that will have ever been designed and built in Italy. I’m looking forward to sharing the past, present and future of Pininfarina and presenting the Battista at Goodwood in April.

Representatives of HR Owen and Rybrook Cars, Automobili Pininfarina’s selected retail partners for the UK, will also be supporting the car’s 77th Goodwood Members’ Meeting debut. Prospective clients are requested to apply for ownership of one of no more than 50 European-bound Battista hypercars that will be available in the UK from late 2020 through the retail specialists, currently priced at an estimated €2m.

The Bianco Sestriere pearlescent white Battista design model that starred in Geneva will be on display at the 77th Goodwood Members’ Meeting. Its pure white form features just a few complementary design accents that will remind connoisseurs of the famous Ferrari 512S Modulo concept of 1970.

First Look: The Koenigsegg Jesko

Koenigsegg has unveiled an all-new megacar – the Koenigsegg Jesko – at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show. Jesko inherits the mantle left by the Agera RS as the leading track-focused, road-legal car for those looking for the ultimate in vehicle performance.

The Jesko is powered by a newly designed, 1280hp (1600hp on E85), twin-turbocharged 5.0L V8 engine that replaces the Koenigsegg Agera engine.

The new hypercar is named for Jesko von Koenigsegg, the father of company Founder and CEO, Christian von Koenigsegg.

First Look: The One-off Bugatti “La Voiture Noire”

The successful continuation of their heritage poses a challenge for traditional companies. Once again, the French luxury brand Bugatti has shown that it can transform these challenges into unique models. With its one-off car “La Voiture Noire“ (The Black Car) Bugatti has again proved that it makes the world’s most powerful, most luxurious and most exclusive hyper sports cars.

The heart of the new creation is the iconic 16-cylinder engine – unique in the automotive world and the peak of the engineer’s art. The 16-cylinder engine with a displacement of 8 liters develops 1,103 kW/1,500 PS (1,479 HP) and 1,600 Newton-meters (1,180 ft-lb) of torque. Six tailpipes at the rear bear witness to its incredible power and are also a tribute to the 16 cylinders.

For €11 million (before tax) this unique car has already been sold to a Bugatti enthusiast. It is the most expensive new car of all time. In its exclusiveness, style, quality and performance, “La Voiture Noire” is an unprecedented and unique car that continues a long tradition in the history of the automobile.
